3 Core Principles of Instructional Design

Our facilitators can conduct internal workshops live in-person or virtually through Zoom. Content, delivery method, and duration are all customizable to fit the needs of your team.

3 Core Principles of Instructional Design

3 Core Principles of Instructional Design is a skill-building workshop focused on an instructional design approach and process that aligns with sustainable business results. Participants are encouraged to bring real-world cases to the workshop. Using these cases, participant teams will practice conducting an analysis, writing relevant performance objectives, and developing assessment strategies.

The workshop is intensely interactive. Concepts are briefly presented in a lecture format, supported by various individual and group activities. Focus is given to rich examples and applied group practice and in-depth feedback.

This workshop is design for 6 hours of instructional time.

What You'll Learn

In this workshop, participants will actively:

  • Develop a job task analysis that incorporates both procedural and cognitive analysis
  • Write five-part performance objectives that help prescribe instructional and measurement strategies
  • Develop a measurement strategy based on a job task analysis and the action portion of their performance objectives

Who Should Attend

This workshop is designed for participants who are actively engaged in the design, development, or evaluation of instructional or assessment content. It is recommended that participants bring cases from projects in which they are currently engaged so that their practice in the workshop can become real, valuable project work. No prior formal education in instructional design is required – though more experienced participants will still find value in the practice and feedback afforded by the workshop.
